It can be difficult to know when it is time to do something yourself, and when it is time to bring in an expert.  Homeowners know this challenge, as some do it yourself projects can quickly or more easily be done by paid professionals.  Work on the house is not the only time you may need a professional.  Sometimes, a professional may have to be brought in for something that has nothing to do with your property.  Sometimes, nature comes to you, and you will need a professional.

Knowing when to get a professional and when not to all comes down to knowing when having a wild animal around may be a threat to the safety and health of you and your family.  Lets take a look at some of the warning signs.

Feces

Feces is a problem for a number of reasons.  If larger mammals are hanging around your property, then their feces can pose a threat.  By threat, I don’t mean you stepping in it.  By threat I mean it contaminating a local favored swimming hole to potentially spreading dangerous diseases to loved ones.  Feces can play host to all kinds of dangerous and risky bacteria.  As a result, it may be time to have the wild animal removed by wildlife control.

Damage

Beyond damage to yourself and loved ones, there is damage to property.  All to often, wild animals will cause damage to property because of what might be inside.  Wild animals are looking for food, water, shelter, and safety.  If an animals is desperate enough, then clawing at doors, breaking windows, and even rummaging through your house are better alternatives to risking it outdoors.

If an animal is inside your home, then you may also want to call a wildlife control expert.  Animals that feel cornered will often attack, and calling a professional may significantly reduce the amount of risk you put yourself in, as well as medical bills.

Children

The last thing to consider is children.  Children often like playing outside, and it can be difficult to watch them constantly.  As a result, it may be prudent to remove animals that are sticking around your property or acting strangely.  One such rare cause for strange behavior include rabies, which has the power to make otherwise docile animals into ferocious predators.  Also, animals in heat can be dangerous, and removing them is a good idea.
